US president Donald Trump said they are ‘getting close’ to a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia after Ukraine agreed to accept a 30-day break in fighting. Trump said he had people on the way to Russia and was hopeful they would accept the deal. However he also made veiled threats that Russia could face ‘devastating’ financial repercussions if it decided to continue the war.
