A four-year-old boy has died after being struck by a bus outside a hospital in Kent.
Zaahir Jan had been visiting his grandmother at the Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother Hospital in Margate on Thursday, when the incident happened.
Kent Police said the bus, a white single-decker vehicle, was travelling near the entrance to the A&E department when Zaahir left the hospital on foot and was struck.
He was taken inside the hospital but died shortly after.
His mother, Azaria Green, described her son as a “sweet funny boy with a cheeky smile”, on a Go Fund Me page.
“Everyone is devastated, but that word doesn’t feel like enough to explain how we are all feeling,” she wrote.
“I didn’t even get to tell you how much I love you.”
Investigators from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Witnesses, including passengers travelling on the bus who have not yet spoken to the police, are urged to contact the the force.
