At least eight killed in shooting at Austrian school | World News


At least eight people have been killed in a shooting attack on a school in the Austrian city of Graz, authorities have said.

An operation was under way in a street called Dreierschuetzengasse, on which there is a secondary school, police said.

On X, the Stryian Police said the reason for the operation, which it confirmed was at the BORG school in Dreierschützengasse “was heard shots in the building (sic)”.

It said several emergency services, a police helicopter and Cobra, a police tactical unit, have been deployed.

Parents should go to the ASKO Stadium, the home ground of local football club, ESK Graz, to meet their children, the force said.

Local broadcaster ORF described it as a “major” police operation following a “shooting spree” in the city in southeastern Austria.
